Where did your name come from?

This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for May 21, 2007:
I was named after a grandfather I never knew (he passed when I was three), and my entire life, I felt like an old man. So, when I turned 25, I changed it.
My new first name, Adam, came as a result of two things: having a profound connection to my "inner child" during a meditation (who told me his name was Adam, a name that was neither here nor there for me until then), and then having three people later come up to me and say, "You look like an Adam." None of them knew about my inner experience. Whoa!
My last name, Kayce, was inspired by a famous Sufi story, Laila and Majnun (lots of people know the story; Eric Clapton wrote his song, Layla, about it). Well, before he was Majnun (one who is crazy with love), he was Qays. Being a bit too odd for English, I rewrote it as Kayce. I considered it as a first name as well, until...
... it all came together during a meditation one morning, when I asked about 'what should my name be?', and got Adam in front, Kayce in the back, and heard bells start chiming.
Sounds wild, I realize, but it really fit, and now, here I am.
